Large Abstract Commission Oil Painting

I have just finished a very large abstract painting for a collector in Texas. Four by six feet. This was such a challenge for me... the sheer size of the painting had me rethinking the entire process.. from how to get the canvas out of the huge tube it was shipped in to how much paint I had to mix so I wasn't remixing with every brushstroke. I loved it and hope to paint another large piece soon.

Mens Wear 7 x 5 Acrylic by John K. Harrell

$200.00 + $10.00 S/H
So many things catch my interest these days that I will never have time to paint them all, but what I like about doing these small paintings and having my blog to share them on is that I can satisfy the thrill of quenching my thirst for that subject quickly and move on to something else. I find that the more technology evolves my artistic world expands right along with it. From the new freedom of camera phones to capture images, and it's capability to process and engage them on social platforms is quite profound.
To be honest keeping up with the technology is sometimes daunting but at the same time exciting. I see it's value in so many personal and professional applications that I can't see a world with out it anymore. Do I fight the current of advancement or do I choose to embrace the limitless journey ahead? I answer the call to Blogger, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and anything else that comes along that I'm up for a wild ride of discovery!

KMA3068-Brushstrokes-of-Dreams by Colorado Artist Kit H Mahoney (9x12, abstract art painting)

This is a sampling of a small body of work that I have done where I am exploring creations of abstract images done on panel board with acrylics. They are non representational allowing the viewer to engage and let their imaginations soar. I will be posting the series of 9"x12" in upcoming days that are very reasonably priced and will have special pricing if you choose to purchase more than one. I have not abandoned my representational work by any means but am expanding my horizons and satisfying my creative curiosity by allowing myself to step outside of the box. To those of you who are not lovers of abstract works, please send me an email at kithmahoney@gmail.com so that I can put you on a list to send only my representational works. 8x8” unframed original acrylic on panel board $75 plus $15 S&H See more paintings on my blog Visit my website Daily Painters of Colorado

KMD3071 Pink Poppies by Colorado Contemporary artist Kit Hevron Mahoney (5x7 oil pink poppy garden)

Poppies still remain one of my most favorite flowers to paint. I came across these on an early morning walk last month with my dog Farley who impatiently waited as I photographed them. (He has much different preferences on our walks!) There is nothing more invigorating than the cool, fresh spring and summer mornings with dew on all the new flowers and the abundance of new life everywhere. I think spring is my most favorite season, followed by fall which is reflected in so much of my work. 7x5” unframed original oil $125 plus $10 S&H See more paintings on my blog Visit my website Daily Painters of Colorado
